Batik is a traditional hand-made printing and dyeing technique that uses beeswax as a resist-dye material. Folks often use the natural plant dye indigo for indigo dyeing. After repeated counter-dying to achieve a satisfactory blue color, they can then be boiled and dewaxed with water to reveal a clear blue and white pattern.
